We all wake in the night - sometimes so briefly we don't remember. The difference is that adults have learned to self-settle back to sleep. Babies need to learn this skill too.

This allows them to trust you will be there for their needs eg hunger, illness or discomfort whilst feeling confident and calm in their own sleep space.
